This course was designed for those handlers wanting to work their K9 in Advanced Tactical (Swat) Operations. Understanding the proper use of the dog in a tactical environment is paramount for the safety of all involved and necessary to assist Swat with a tactical resolution decreasing liability.   

Here is a brief list of K9 topics covered; Swat K9 Gear, K9 Gun Fire, Flashbangs and Distraction Devices, Lethal Force Cover, Specialized Swat K9 Team Formations and Movements, Tracking and Air Scent, Buy Bust Operations, Fatal Funnels, Dynamic Entries, Barricaded Subjects, Breach and Hold, Short vs Long Duration Events and more…

Each student will learn the best training methods, specific to their dog, for continued improvement and sustainment after this class. Students who have attended this class found that everything learned in this course also applied to their daily calls for service while on patrol, if not assigned to a full-time tactical team. Our Swat K9 School has been rated one of the most efficient, safe and operational Swat Dog Programs in the United States by Tier 1 Military K9 Operators. 

Recommended Equipment: 

All duty and swat related Gear, all K9 gear currently used to include e collar, harness, prong collar, leather collar, choke, k9 boots, k9 goggles, k9 vest, duty pistol, issued long gun, inclement weather clothing, water, snacks, eye protection, ear protection, bug spray, boots, ballistic shield, ballistic helmet, Swat Operator load bearing vest if currently used, exterior stand-alone plates and carrier, K9 Training Bite suit, 

Note: This course is intensive with both classroom and field work and is held to first 8 registered K9 Teams. Prior authorization required for adding additional K9 Team spots, having a maximum of 10 K9 Teams per class.

Students who have attended this course put it to DIRECT USE their very next day back to work. Our goal is to teach you techniques to work as a team with your dog on tracking deployments, maximize officer safety, close time and distance gap between you and the suspect and save time through our direct track deployment techniques.  Officer safety aspects are fully integrated into our Tactical Tracking Program. 

This is an Officer / Handler / Operator course only and NO DOGS will be worked in this Level 1 class. All techniques instructed will fit in with daily operations of Patrol, Swat and Correction operations.  

We cover both Urban and Rural Tracking Techniques. Our goal is to increase your deployment to apprehension ratio while decreasing your bite ratio and prevent ambush from suspect. Whether you’re looking for a missing person or a fleeing suspect, you will see an increase in successful deployments, with or without a K9, when using our trained techniques.
